Sridevi set to return to the big screen with her upcoming dramatic-thriller, Mom.

The yesteryear actress, who dazzled everyone with her previous performance in English Vinglish, is making a comeback after five years. What appears to look like a contrast to her portrayal of a mother as Gauri Shinde (in English Vinglish) promises of a more severe performance from her.

Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 12.35.10 PMSridevi took to Twitter to share the first look of her film. The poster looks intriguing with her sidelong glance and the word ‘Mom’ scribbled all around her in different languages. The film will be produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by debutant Ravi Udywar.

Salman Khan was also present at the launch of the film’s bold first look, and according to a leading daily (Deccan Chronicle), was all praises about the legendary actor.

Reports suggest that Sridevi will play the titular role in Mom which will see her in conflict with her stepdaughter, played by Pakistani actress Sajal Aly.

The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui (in a guest appearance).

Mom is apparently based on a woman’s difficult relationship with her step-daughter, as she fights against the injustice done to her.

The film is scheduled to release on 14 July, this year.
