RBI approves ₹200 note, Centre to sign and approve

Screen Shot 2017-04-04 at 6.08.19 PMTuesday: As per reports from Livemint, RBI has passed a proposal to introduce 200 notes in the country.
The central govt will need to sign off and approve the proposal to begin the printing of the new denomination around June, the daily reported.

This will be the second new denomination of currency to be introduced after the 2000 note.

Evidently, there has been a shortage of smaller denomination in the country after 500 and 1000 notes were demonetised by the govt back in November 2016. The new version of 500 note came but were not able to compensate the problems 2000 rupee note had created.

Reports also suggested for new 10 and 100 notes to be introduced.
