Lioness Club Rishikesh Divine steps up for social causes in Rishikesh
This past week, the Lioness Club Rishikesh Divine emerged as the unsung heroes (to be gender neutral) championing the cause of the poor. The club organized three different activities in the week, putting their entire organisational strength to meet the challenge.
First up was the distribution of school shoes to students studying at the Rajiv Gram School located in the Dhalwala area.
Later, in the week, in support of the Prime Minister’s ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign, the club members conducted a seminar and workshop on the theme to help mobilise people to work towards this women emancipation goal. This was conducted in a school, where underprivileged children try and build their future, under the Governor’s programme on the same issue. The school was also given a donation of Rs. 11,000 for the better facilities for the education of girls.
Uma Kinger, club president said, “daughters are the harbingers of fortune and abundance, if not for them the world would come to a standstill.”
The club felicitated A.R.T.O., Rishikesh Dr. Anita Chamola and Simran Arora (Miss Uttarakhand-finalist) as role models and women of substance.
In another outing, the ladies of the Rishikesh Club Divine took government school students out to Dominos.
Club secretary, Sarita Chhabra exclaimed about her club activities and omnipresent personality of the club members that, where there is a need for caring hands there is a lioness.
Lioness Club Rishikesh Divine a social outfit continuously makes efforts in making Rishikesh a better place for all. The club engages with the underprivileged and assists their immediate needs, also raising awareness towards their concerns and requirements.
