Peshawar Zalmi triumphed over Quetta Gladiators with a 58 run-win to grab the Pakistan Super League 2017 title at Lahore, Pakistan on Sunday.
This was the first ever final held in Pakistan. The match turned out to be a terrific success as crowd turned up in huge numbers to see the final.
Zalmis batted first to put up a total of 148 runs in their 20 overs, powered with a consistent batting performance by Kamran Akmal and followed by a quick cameo of 28 runs by Darren Sammy. Emrit was the highest wicket taker for Quettas with 3 wickets.
The Quetta Gladiators never looked to be in a commanding position as they bundled out for 90 runs in 16.3 overs. SM Ervine was the highest run getter with just 24 runs. Among the Zalmis, Mohammad Asgar was the highest wicket-taker with a tally of 3 wickets.
Darren Sammy was adjuged the Man-of-the-match, while Kamran Akmal was made the Man-of-the-series.
