It’s the mega return of the season! The much loved sitcom, Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai is all set to make a comeback as a web series.

The cast and crew unanimously decided to bring the show back, albeit not on television, after having received much support from the show’s fans.

The show’s producer,  JD Majethia, while speaking to the Mirror, said that, “We have received so much support from fans online some of whom have even volunteered to finance the show if it returns. During the discussion, we agreed that none of us wanted a never-ending TV series but a shorter term online was a good idea. Once I return from my vacation, I will finalise the script and we will move on from there.”

The hilarious sitcom was based on the lives of an upper-class Gujarati family living in Bombay, which dealt with the daily struggles of a dealing with a middle class daughter-in-law. The satirisation of the class tensions made for a unique and funny television which was a fry cry from the routine saas-bahu dramas.

The show starred, Ratna Pathak as Maya Sarabhai, Satish Shah as Indravadan Sarabhai, Rupali Ganguly as Monisha, Sumeet Raghvan as Sahil and Rajesh Kumar as Rosesh.

The show aired for two years Star One between 2004 and 2006.

According to the makers, the show is set to hit the world wide web in May 2017.
