Skipper Virat Kohli to receive Polly Umrigar Award

Virat Kohli,  Indian Cricket TeamVirat Kohli will be presented with the prestigious Polly Umrigar Award, given to the International Cricketer of the Year, at the BCCI Annual Awards to be held in Bengaluru March 8, 2017.” said BCCI in a statement.

This is the not the first time the Indian skipper will be getting this top award. Having already won the award twice before in 2011-12 and 2014-15, Kohli will become the first player to be bestowed with the honour for the third time.

The Dilip Sardesai Award, to honour the best performer in a bilateral series between India and West Indies will be given to off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The Number-One ranked bowler had won the award earlier after being named the Man of the Series in the three-match Test series in 2011.
