Bajaj Auto had announced a new brand identity while also having discussed the brand’s plans very close to transformation in the Indian auto industry. Bajaj Auto sure seems braced up for the future with EV, quadricycle, and Husqvarna plans for the Indian market. The whole idea is to show the world its massive transition from being a scooter maker to a global motorcycle producer. The new identity is also being marketed over social media platforms and through the print of course. We list out five important points that you should know.
1) The new image
The Bajaj Auto brand will now function under the tagline “World’s favorite Indian”, emphasizing the company’s popular image across the globe, in 70 different countries. The new image also carries a new TV commercial that reflects the countries in which their products are offered. The company also discussed the brand’s entry into the EV market and its transition to BS6 compliant products.
2) New Husqvarna motorcycles
Bajaj has been having Swedish bike maker Husqvarna on the cards for India, and the KTM-owned brand is finally here in the form of the new Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250. With these retro-inspired, modern bikes, the Husqvarna Motorcycles brand is sure to have an impact on our market. The brand has loads of potential in other markets as well.
3) Domestic sales and market share
Bajaj bikes have surprisingly had a strong market presence in other countries, but here in India, its presence hasn’t been all that impressive. However, a 6-7 percent market share has been added to its domestic motorcycle market. They’ve managed to double their Japanese rival’s market share while being at par with TVS Moto Company.
4) Their very own quadricycle
The Qute quadricycle went on sale earlier this year in our market. It is considered a safer alternative to auto-rickshaws. But initially, this cute offering faced homologation issues before setting wheel on Indian shores. Bajaj Auto still has faith in its product and hopes to have an EV version of it on the roads soon too. Bajaj also has plans to launch more two-wheeler EVs for our market.
5) Bajaj EV products
Bajaj definitely has its focus on the EV market in India, but these products are bound to take a while to yield some positive results, since the technology involved in developing these EVs is expensive, and the lack of sufficient charging infrastructure is another concern. Bajaj has ambitions to launch EV cars as well, not only for India but for overseas markets too. Also, grab the latest info on the upcoming scooters, only at autoX.
